London 2012

I have loved every second of the Olympics! My favourites were the gymnastics, diving, water polo, boxing, track....the list is endless. The opening and closing ceremonies were amazing and the organisers did us proud! Team GB did so well!

I danced away whilst watching the opening and closing ceremonies...the music was amazing. I heard a few negative comments, like, 'What has music and fashion got to do with the Olympics?' The organisers really homed in on British culture, history, television, film and music...things which us British hold dear to our hearts and it represented us perfectly. My hightlights were....James Bond and the Queen, Mr Bean, Kenneth Branagh reciting Shakespeare, Timothy Spall as Winston Churchill, the Spice Girls, JK Rowling, the Children's Deaf Choir, Kate Moss, Naomi Cambell, David Gandy...the list is endless and I'm bound to have missed things out! Bravo to Danny Boyle for directing the Opening Ceremony and Kim Gavin who directed the Closing Ceremony. The Olympic flame as well was stunning. A huge congratulations and thank you to all the athletes and to all the volunteers!

The Spice Girls at the Closing Ceremony...I still remember all the words! I thought Victoria Beckham looked lovely!

Kate Moss:

Kate Moss and the beautiful Olympic Flame!

British models Stella Tennant, Lily Cole, Karen Elson, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Jourdon Dunn and David Gandy at the Olympic stadium during the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games in London wearing beautiful outfits made by British designers: Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Christopher Kane, Erdem, Jonathan Saunders and Stephen Jones, Victoria Beckham, Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith.

He who must not be named.

My favourite writer, JK Rowling, reading at the Opening Ceremony:

Lord Voldemort and lots of Mary Poppins!

James Bond, the Queen and her corgis...Priceless! The Queen was such a good sport!

Anthony Ogogo won a bronze in the boxing:

GB's men's gymnasts took Bronze. It was the first podium medal for a British gymnastics team for 100 years, since the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. Well done boys!

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

  1. I watched both ceremonies, opening and closing. It was fantastic and reinforced what I have always believed: the best music and bands are from the UK.
