I recently heard about a brand new company called Donate Mobile who will donate 10% of your monthly bill to a charity of your choice. There's no catch at all - your bills aren't higher than any other network and they will in fact price match tariffs on selected networks! The network coverage is really good and is provided by Vodafone, the only difference being that Donate Mobile sort out the bills and charitable donations.
For me, the aspect that attracts me most to this company is the charitable donations. I always try and donate to charity when I can and sponsor friends and colleagues when they're running marathons for charity. I'm sure many people have thought about setting up direct debits and giving a few pounds to charity every month, but often money is very tight and people have bills coming out of their ears. With Donate Mobile, it's already part of the bill and it's no more than you would be paying with another network, so you don't have to worry about another direct debit and every month you can log into your account and see how much you've been able to donate and you can even pick the charity. If you're an animal lover, there are lots of animal charities to choose from or if you've known someone to suffer from a particular illness, you can pick a charity which helps support research or aids the patients and their families.
If you're still on a contract with another network you can pre-register and they will remind you when you have a month left of your current contact. If you decide to change networks, Donate Mobile will let you keep your own number, you can have a SIM only option if you wish or choose from one of their competitive monthly tariffs and handsets.
If it sounds like something you're interested in, you can find out more information on their website here.

That's a great initiative. I wish it was available in Luxembourg too.
ReplyDeleteThere is another mobile network that does this great job! Users can redirect 10% of their monthly spend to a cause of their choice. They are currently giving away free sim cards I think that with £10 for everyone who wants to try their network for free.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean The People's operator?
